No background in studio camera recordings

Is it possible to have it where there is no background at all when you're recording your headshot? I’ve been using an app at work that can knock out the entire background and only have your head in the portrait facing camera. That way if you don’t want anyone to be distracted by your background, it will just be your head with nothing else….
