Improve Input Microphone Quality

The default microphone input quality comes in at a bitrate of 66 kb/s mono. I would love it if I could record audio at 192kb/s and stereo quality. This would enable me to not have to use two separate audio recording programs simultaneously to achieve the quality I want.
