Audio Improvement Request

I noticed a dithering down of the audio quality, I’m recording on a Neuman and the audio quality should be warm and full, and it sounds like i’m on my laptop mic. There should be some better compression to even out the sound and some gating to mute some background noise. I suggest a comparison to loom and strive to match in some capacity, but as a former audio engineer it very noticeable. Also my volume is much lower in the system, and I can hear electronic nuances on my voice that shouldn’t be. Hopefully this is something that can be addressed as I thing great quality audio is equally important to a great video.

    I just recently got a new Rode Wireless Go 3, and when recording into Voice Memos on my phone, the audio sounds great, but when recording through Screen studio, it sounds like I’m talking into a tin can. I’ve tried dozens of settings, and enabled / disabled the improve microphone audio, but unfortunately nothing works.

    I’m not sure what the root cause is, but the ability to adjust screen studio’s default audio inputs would be greatly appreciated.

      +1 to this problem. I record my intros/outros in QuickTime & record the screen parts in Screen Studio, using the same mic source for both. When I assemble everything in FCP the screen parts sound bad. I’m able to make it a little better with FCP audio effects, but there’s still a noticeable difference. If it were possible, I’d record the video/audio into a separate file and assemble everything in FCP, but then I can’t cut any time during Screen Studio editing because the audio wouldn’t match. This is unfortunately making Screen Studio unusable for me.

    OBS and Zoom apps have settings to allow noise reduction in real-time. I wonder if Screen studio have thought about this.

    Agree that audio is key. I use a Rode Streamer X and use their software tool, Rode Central, to tune the audio signal/waveform that is “sent” to Screen Studio. That helps with this issue

    Agreed. As someone who creates audio tutorials, it would be great if Screen Studio were improved on several fronts:

    1) System Audio is considerably quieter vs microphone audio. Way too quiet to be usable.

    2) It would be great to be able to edit system audio and voiceover audio separately. Assuming System Audio gets fixed and is at a usable volume, it would be great to be able to mute the voice-over audio during system audio playback.

    3) For me at least, post-production audio editing is a necessity. It would be great if Screen Studio had an export option without compression or audible changes. A lossless export option would be ideal.

    Screenflow is still (unfortunately) the best option for professional screen recording. But Screen Studio is far more elegant a solution. Hopefully Screen Studio will receive these updates!
